My deep interest in military history stems from the last three generations of my family. Through their service to our country we have retained our freedoms. I am grateful for their service and strive to help educate people of the sacrifices our military personnel have and continue to make for their fellow citizens.
My Family Tree
For almost a decade I have been a member of the 2nd Infantry Division, living history organization. We represent that unit during its time of service in the second world war. Education and authenticity are two core beliefs we hold. We strive for our impression to be incredibly accurate. Only original equipment or specially produced reproduction items may be worn and displayed at public events. We strive to show the upmost respect to our men and women of the armed forces. When putting on public displays we work to educate people on not only the function of a specific item such as a field radio but also on how it was used and in some cases whether the soldier loved or hated the item.
I take great pride in my desire to keep the spirit and memory of their sacrifices alive for current and future generations. If we do not continue to acknowledge and learn from the past we are destined to repeat the tragedies and suffering of our forefathers.
